Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Introduces Modern Online Multiplayer in Major Update

Share post

Wipe the radioactive dust out of your eyes because it’s really happening: nearly 20 years after the games were first released, post-apocalyptic real-time strategy series Krush Kill ‘N Destroy will be getting a major new update, adding online multiplayer and more as publisher Ziggurat Interactive teams up with a talented modder.

Compete against friends in intense PvP (player versus player) battles across a collection of post-nuclear battlefields. Choose your faction and fight tooth, nail, and tentacle in harsh, unforgiving and barely survivable conditions to gain control of precious oil and gain bragging rights over your friends.

Both KKND games will introduce additional languages, improved mod support, and bug fixes for their gritty and compelling story campaigns.

In the original releases, you battled tooth, claw, and tentacle, choosing to join one of several factions as they duke it out for control of precious oil. In story campaign modes, you’ll complete dozens of missions and command more than 50 air, land, and amphibious units and advance across harsh, unforgiving and barely hospitable terrain.

In addition to the restoration of multiplayer features, the new patches will introduce additional display resolutions, game balance improvements, improved support for mods, additional playable languages, and fixes to known issues with the previous releases.

If you would like to be one of the first to try out the new updates, you can apply to be part of the closed beta program here.

An opt-in Open Beta for all owners of Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Xtreme and Krush Kill ‘N Destroy 2: Krossfire will begin in May 2026, with the full release of the updates scheduled for June 2026.

Current owners of Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Xtreme and Krush Kill ‘N Destroy 2: Krossfire will receive the updates as free updates to the existing games. The games on Steam and GOG will increase in price from $6.99 USD to $9.99 each when the Open Beta period begins in May.

Included in the major update patches for the games will be:

  • Online multiplayer support on modern systems through Steam first with GOG Galaxy support and Steam/GOG crossplay to follow at a later date.
  • Support for additional playable resolutions up to 4K
  • Improved modding support, including an update to the KKND2 map editor for compatibility with 64-bit operating systems
  • Restored original HD sound effects
  • Additional language versions playable through Steam and GOG:
    • Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Xtreme: German and French
    • Krush Kill ‘N Destroy 2: Krossfire: German, French, and more languages to be announced
  • New launchers for tweaking game settings
  • Fixes to crash bugs and other known issues

The KKND series updates will be available in June 2026 on PC via Steam and GOG.
